Today we will have a half day tour of San Pedro Sula, known as the industrial capital of Honduras, a modern bustling city that treasures its rich history and tradition of the banana emporium era, take a scenic drive through commercial and residential areas along with a visits to the local artisans market and museum of anthropology. In the afternoon, we depart for the Maya Ruins of Copan to arrive later in the evening, overnight at Copan.
In the morning, we will have a guided tour of the main archaeological site that features the hieroglyphic staircase, the ball court and the famous stelas; in the afternoon, learn about the various artifacts and art work carved in stone at the Museum of Maya sculpture and the Museum of Archaeology, where you will see a recreation of the Rosalila Temple in the tunnels, evening is at your disposal to stroll around the cobble stoned streets of the town of Copan and visit its numerous restaurants, coffee and souvenir shops, overnight at Copan.
No visit to Copan can be complete without a close encounter with the quarters of the royal families at “Las Sepulturas” site, we will end our Copan visit with a tour of the Macaw Mountain Bird park, mid-afternoon drive back to San Pedro Sula, evening is free, overnight at San Pedro Sula.
San Pedro Sula to Tegucigalpa
We will head to the Honduran Capital City, Tegucigalpa, you will have a chance to admire the mountainous scenery while we drive to the capital city of Honduras, Tegucigalpa, in route, we will visit Pulhapanzak waterfall, enjoy a delicious lunch at beautiful Lake Yojoa and also visit colonial former capital city Comayagua, including the cathedral which holds the oldest functioning clock in the Americas. We will arrive in Tegucigalpa late afternoon for overnight.
Tegucigalpa is not only the capital city of Honduras but further a colonial town of abundant history, we will enjoy a morning tour of both modern and colonial districts, the Basilica of Suyapa and a sweeping view of the metropolitan area at the foot of the giant figure of Christ located at Picacho hill. We will finish our Honduras tour visiting two charming old mining colonial towns, Santa Lucia and Valle de Angeles that are home to the local artisan’s school and many souvenir shops, evening is free, overnight at Tegucigalpa.
Early morning transfer to the airport to catch you flight to La Ceiba, departing at 8:30 AM and arriving at 9:30 AM, airport pick up and transfer to your hotel, at 2:00 PM, we will drive to th Pico Bonito National Park and then hike through the various trails for natural observation and bird watching, we will end our tour with a refreshing dip at the crystal clear waters of a beautiful natural pool, evening is free, overnight at La Ceiba
The morning will be filled with adrenaline and excitement as we join the whitewater rafting tour on the Cangrejal river for an exhilarating ride on class III and IV river rapids and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty, afternoon and evening at leisure, overnight at La Ceiba
After breakfast, we depart for the community of La Union to catch the railroad cart and travel into Cuero Y Salado Wildlife Refuge, here, we will take a boat tour on the mangrove channels, the reserve is home to a wide variety of birds, spider and howler monkeys can be easily spotted as well as crocodiles and with luck one might see one of the endangered manatees that lives here, this is a half day excursion, we return to La Ceiba around noon, rest of the day is free, overnight at La Ceiba
Today we are on our way to Cayos Cochinos Marine Reserve, an incredible chain of cayes located a 45 minute boat ride from Sambo Creek just east of La Ceiba, we will navigate around the isles and visit the Garifuna village of Chachahuate where we will be able to interact with the locals, enjoy a typical lunch and perhaps try out some Garifuna dancing? time for snorkeling is allowed, we return to La Ceiba around 2:00 PM, rest of the day at leisure, overnight at La Ceiba
At 8:30 AM, we will drive you to the La Ceiba´s dock to catch the ferry to Roatan island departing at 9:30 AM and arriving at 10:45 AM, dock pick up and transfer to West Bay Beach for your 3 night leisure package at Roatan

At 10:00 AM, transfer to the airport to catch the 11:45 AM flight back to La Ceiba arriving at 12:15 PM, airport pick up, drive to town for a quick lunch, then, depart for San Pedro Sula, in route visit to Lancetilla Botanical Park, a former research center founded by United Fruit where a large collection of plants and trees from all over the world can be seen, arrive at San Pedro Sula before sunset, evening free, overnight at San Pedro Sula
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport to catch your international departure flight.
